You realize that the courts have granted that distinction to all media outlets. This includes radio, TV News papers etc. Way back when they called it yellow Journalism. Heck, Political ads don't even need to be true.
It's the people that appear as guests on "news shows" that put their personal professional reputation on the line makes a difference in the plausibility of the information.
