I played with one last year. It was a friends. You will have to have very good light and a rock of a tripod. But it was fun to play around with for about an hour, :-D He does so so with it. Never saw a great shot from it though.

It won't give you anything you want to frame, but its a fun spy lens! And it yields equivalent of a 975-1950mm on a DX body!

You can have just as much fun bird watching from the bottom of a swimming pool at much less expense.
I have one that I bought in '09. It came with a doubler and I paid $70. It's a spy lens that you can have some fun with. Use something steady to put the lens on such as a bean bag and only use it during the day especially with f8 to f16 without the doubler.

I have the Opteksa version of this. A lot of people pan it as a lens that is only good for taking pictures of light bulb filaments across the street because of the F:Stop range. But if you play a bit, you can get some great shots. You will have fun, but don't expect to get birds in flight, unless by accident. Somewhere here I posted a couple that I took with it. I'll see if I can find that post.
Eureka!
