We go to Silverton Colorado every 4th of July and there was still quite a lot of snow, more than most years this time.
Great shots. We were up there 2+ years ago.
I have not heard anything about flooding on the Animas this year. Was there any with all the snowpack, or has it been an orderly melt?
Beautiful Shots!!!
Ordinary melt. The rains have started so we hope to not worry about fire like our 3 big fires last year.
A question from an amateur -- how did you get such a wide depth of field, with the flowers in the foreground and the mountains in focus? I've been struggling to accomplish this effect. Thanks.

beautiful captures, love the Marmots
How beautful, Photolady! I love shots like this and I have a big one very similar to this hanging on the wall! The combination of wild flowers and snow capped mountains must makes it! :)
I tried both ways focus on the flowers and then the mountain with f16. Then tried a focus half way between at f16 and got the photo I liked the best. If you really zoom in the flowers are not super in focus, but looked good enough for the photo. Glad you liked it.
Oh and it was probably the most beautiful day I have ever seen up there. It was such a clear day and the sky really blue almost to the point that some of the photos looked fake the sky was such a deep blue.

I can see some pretty wildflowers and cute critters in the last one. Good place to beat summer heat.
Beautiful pictures, love the flowers making a nice contrast with the rest of the landscape.
