Freiberg, Germany

Freiberg, Germany is a very cool old German town in the Black Forest. Here are some images from that lovely city.

Please note the Gargoyle photo. When the church was being built in the late 1100s, the story goes something like this: The church was behind in its payments to the architects and builders, and a dispute arose. The dispute was resolved, but left the architect and builders with a bad taste.

So a "special" gargoyle was installed, the one in the photo. The church people did not notice it for many years-

Interesting story. Maybe someday I can visit. My favorite shot is the man and his dogs.

Freiberg was one of my favorite cities when I was stationed in Germany in the late 60s. I think my favorite photographic subject while in Germany was the many old churches. Your photo brings back lots of good memories. Thanks for sharing.

Loved my eighteen month vacation in Germany in 1958-60 at your expense.
