One of My Better Moon Shots with the Tamron 150-600mm @ 600mm + 2.0x and 1.4x Kenko Pro TC - Posted 07-06-2014
Here is another Moon photo that I took with my Tamron 150-600mm at 600mm. I rotated the view to reduce/eliminate the need to pan during Download viewing.
I was lucky to have several factors in my favor when I took this photograph. Good seeing night; Moon relatively high in the sky; good manual focusing; right camera settings for the conditions; little or no wind; took several shots; and some luck!
EXIF: Canon 60D + Tamron 150-600mm @ 600mm + 2.0x Kenko Pro 300 TC + 1.4x Kenko Pro 300 TC; ISO 1600 @ f/13.0 @ 1/160th sec
Rotated for better viewing in Download

Pretty sharp along the terminator, it handles blowing up well! Very good!
Thanks dlmorris... I appreciate your comments...

If you get a chance click on the link below to see my Moon photo with heavy Photoshopping to increase crater viewing... it looks a little unnatural but I like the difference it makes in the crater details...

Just for fun, try using just the lens, then crop to the same size and see what happens.
I'll try but it might be a while... cloudy every night lately... the last Moon shots I did was on.a partially cloudy night... there were a lot of thin clouds passing over and I didn't see them through my viewfinder... they were transparent but could affect clarity since I was unknowingly shooting through them...

Also, it's hard to get a good shot when the moon is full (not enough detail). But will be interested in your results and opinions.
I took this Moon photo using my Canon 60D + Tamron 150-600mm lens + 2.0x Kenko Pro 300 TC + 1.4x Kenko Pro 300 TC at 2040mm; 1/200th sec at f/7.6 - ISO 1600
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio - USA
Date: 06-18-2014
Eastern Time: 04:24:04 AM
Moon Phase: 66% Waning
Moon Relative Position: Approximately 140 degrees east of north; Approximately 37 degrees above the horizon.
Moon Inverted - Personal Preference and also reduces panning in Download... Extra Sharpening Performed.
