I did not reply to your post. I replied to Balboa, the OP! Take another look. But I do agree with every thing you just said.
My bad. Sorry, and thanks. I was just kidding about starting an other Battle of the Brands.

No its just that I find science and learning much more interesting and don't need pseudo self image enhancers and don't sit around thinking about gay fashion as some do then project it unto others.
I too find science and learning very interesting and read every day. But I also like automobile racing. Why should there be a divide between the two? After all, a boatload of science knowledge goes into each and every automobile, especially race cars.
How in the heck did this deteriorate into "gay fashion"? I could not find a post from silver anywhere on this topic!

Am I the only one that doesn't get NASCAR? Watching cars go around in circles makes absolutely no sense to me. After a couple of minutes of this torture I'll tell you anything!
What is the purpose of your question ?

Short track Saturday night is an American institution and especially fun to watch on the dirt track with Sprint cars. Half the weight of a NASCAR with as much or more HP on a track less than half a mile! I'm with you on the soccer thing.
If you ever get an opportunity to visit Tony Stewart's track in Rosburg, Ohio be sure to see it. 1/2 mile dirt! Original high banks. Saturday night is alright for fighting', as long as it is on dirt! Eldora Speedway jus a trip back in time, where every legend in american motorsports got their feet wet in
Saturday night racin'. A trip right out of yesteryear, and a whole lotta fun.
If you don't know the difference between an oval and a circle, well, I'm not not surprised you don't get the sport.

If you don't like NASCAR, don't watch it. It's not rocket science there Einstein!

Too bad this thread has degenerated into unfortunate name calling and innuendo. To the original point:
NASCAR is a complex sport. Although NASCAR mandates a tight set of standards to which all race cars must adhere, the variables are many. Strategy is always in the mix. And there is always the likelihood that multi-car crashes will drastically alter a race's outcome. This weekend's Coke Zero 400 at Daytona was shaking out to play out in one way and two successive big crashes - and insistent rain showers - totally changed the outcome of the race.
Many people, and I am one of them, do appreciate the intense drama inherent to NASCAR racing, while others prefer open-wheel racing (Indy Car, Formula One, Grand Prix) and other equally serious fans prefer the explosive burst of drag racing. Neither of these forms of racing appeal to me
Tons of fans live for basketball, NBA and NCAA, etc.. Some are thrilled by soccer. I cannot endure either, but I am not gonna put anyone down who does enjoy such things. I watch some NFL football, but I prefer NCAA college ball.To each his or her own.
I know many who scratch their heads when they see someone spend thousands of dollars on DSLR rigs when one can take a perfectly acceptable photograph with a smart phone.
Whatever floats your boat, pal.
Obviously you have never been to Bakersfield Ca., plenty of
rednecks there.

LOL - now thats funny! Especially when you take into account that the "pit crews" alone are mostly "ex-pro" football players who actually have ex-pro trainers. The drivers usually have some kind of workout room in their homes and that the 6 time champion is from California. I didn't know they had rednecks in California! Some of the drivers actually have engineering degrees and unlike most of Hollywood, they ALL have highschool dyplomas. Sure, the history comes from the "moonshine runners" of the '50's but has gone way beyond that now.

NASCAR is non-athletic? Try driving at 190 MPH is a non-air-conditioned car in the midst of 42 other cars for three to five hours. Have you never noticed that there are no fat NASCAR drivers? If you're not in tip-top shape, you won't survive the NASCAR circuit. Ever driven the ring road around Atlanta during morning or afternoon drive time? Now multiply that speed by two or three....
Children, there is more science in car that races in Nascar than you can possibly comprehend. Personally I like Nascar, but love the road races. Haven't seen either race in years. Rather be fishing

I have come to the conclusion that Balboa is actually an avid NASCAR fan who just wanted to stir up the conversation. Come on Balboa, tell us who your favorite driver is...........Gordon? Johnson? Earnhardt? Patrick? Stewart?.......come on, tell us!! :) :)
