and that is something I thought I would never say!!!
my files out of my d800 are {around 12 MB's} when I put them in a PScc then into NIK {google} the file will go all the way up to 128MB's {or more} Now the problem! I use an online canvas print place, the files cannot be any bigger than 60MB's. 1) if I crop I loose my part of my pic 2) if I "save for web" it is under 1MB {afraid this will not print well} 3)I changed the resolution from 300 to 100, made minimal amount of difference. 4) did an online search and really did not give me a lot to work with, mostly informed me to do the "save for web!!" any help would be appreciated!!
I so seldom use PS (virtually all my edits done in Lightroom), but since they are both Adobe products I'm inclined to think they have common features. I know in LR you can set a size limit to the file when exporting. Does anyone know if LR and PS share this feature?
What is the file format you are trying to upload as if you are trying to upload the PSD file it will contain any additional layers you may have created using filters and each layer increases the filesize. A 50mb file duplicated to another layer increases the PSD file size of one of my images to 153mb.
In Photoshop, go to Image/Image Size. In the dialogue box, the resolution is probably 300 dpi? Change to something like 100 and see what the file size is. Find whatever dpi is necessary to achieve what you need. For web posting, I use 72 dpi, which is what most HTML based web pages will show.

And TIFF would be even worse. If you aren't already, you may want to consider saving the file as a Jpeg at the maximum quality setting (should be 12 for Photoshop) then check the file size. You will still get compression but will not loose any noticeable detail. If you're already saving as Jpeg - sorry, out of ideas.

Speaking of layers, have you tried flattening all the layers before exporting? Be sure to save the un-flattened version first, though.

The file is not too large, your canvas place is too limiting. If they will not accept the file through a site like Dropbox, get a new canvas printing place.
PS CC saves under any format you want. Saving for the web is simple as that, file save for web. Options: Format gif-jpg-png Format bit depth Size compression ratio if an option in the format selected.
I really do not see where the problem is.
Not sure why you would want to use NIK since PS does everything but that is me - NO plug-in (or add-ons)
And oh, yeah a D800 and you save in jpg???   Try using raw once in a while you are wasting your camera capabilities.
I do not use raw when taking pics at family get togethers. but do use most of the rest of the tim
