Actually, I've been there probably at least half a dozen times, being a formerly active private pilot and current member of AOPA and EAA. I've also gotten two winning e-published pics that were taken at Osh '11 (the last time I was there); eaa.org and AvWeb. i bought an extra battery for an airshow in May, but now I lost my original Sony battery and am left with one :( DARN IT!!...I'll shop for a couple more on Amazon or E-bay. Someone mentioned a sling. Maybe a fishing vest would do as well. I'm going to be there for the whole week (only 2nd time) at Camp Scholler and am going to be bringing a guy from Australia that I brought in '11(picking him up at O'Hare). He was alone then, but this time he's bringing his son. Besides batteries, I have 2 32 GB, an 8 and a 4 that are going with me as well as my laptop. I kind of wanted to keep lens packing to a minimum because I'll already have 3 people, a tent, grill, their luggage etc, etc already in a 2014 Ford Focus. My brother is also flying his plane up there for 2 or 3 days, but he doesn't know when yet. Much as I am beginning to like it, I'll leave the sigma at home. If I took an 18-250 or a 28-300 I could leave my other two lenses at home, but I'm unsure of the optical quality of an ~11-15x zoom.

Well it looks like you already knew anything I could tell you. The lens is personal choice. It would be nice to test them out and see the quality beforhand. Enjoy your week.
