LITTLE COMMON SENSE FROM AN OLD COWBOY

Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.

A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor.

Meanness don’t jes’ happen overnight.

Forgive your enemies; it messes up their heads.

Do not corner something that you know is meaner than you.

It don’t take a very big person to carry a grudge.

You cannot unsay a cruel word.

Every path has a few puddles.

When you wallow with pigs, expect to get dirty.

Most of the stuff people worry about ain’t never gonna happen anyway.

Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.

Live a good, honorable life… Then when you get older and think back, you’ll enjoy it a second time.

Don ‘t interfere with somethin’ that ain’t bothering you none.

Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a Rain dance.

If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop diggin’.

Sometimes you get, and sometimes you get got.

The biggest troublemaker you’ll probably ever have to deal with, watches you from the mirror every mornin’.

Always drink upstream from the herd.

Good judgment comes from experience, and a lotta that comes from bad judgment.

Lettin’ the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier than puttin’ it back in.

If you get to thinkin’ you’re a person of some influence, try orderin’ somebody else’s dog around..

Don’t pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he’ll just kill you.

Most times, it just gets down to common sense.

just good advise br LITTLE COMMON SENSE FROM AN O... (show quote)

The problem is there is too much apathy. That is why I don't give a sh*t.

When meeting a liberal, do not forget, you cant fix stupid.

Stupid degenerated into evil decades ago.

Demolishing America, faith in God - the One we "trust" - the One our 'One nation" is under in the pledge of allegiance, continuing to support savage murder of unborn babies, and demolishing any semblance of truth and integrity are all evil.

You smile at liberals. You turn the other cheek to liberals.
I will not, any more than I will turn the other cheek to al Qaeda "on the run," as Bozo says.

That is nuts. You are equating half of the people in the country (and no doubt some of your co-workers, friends, neighbors and relatives) with Islamic extremists and terrorists?

As the OP suggests, a little common sense is in order here.

Yes it is.

First, people who identify themselves as liberals in America total 23%, NOT "Half."

Second, liberals have long characterized conservatives as "fascist," and "Nazi." Are their friends and neighbors fascist, Nazi conservatives?

Third, liberals have long given aid and comfort to our enemies, even as they were killing American troops. It started with protests against the Vietnam War, and such comfort to the enemy continues to this day at the hands of liberals.

How about some "common sense" for a change? How about supporting America, instead of al Qaeda? What have we done so bad, other than trying to free oppressed people all around the world? Don't answer. It was a rhetorical question that you will only spin.

Jack, I got up this morning, and somebody rewrote my reply to you. "I SWEAR TO GOD!" (John Belushi in Blues Brothers, to his beautiful fiance in the sewer, to keep her from shooting his worthless gluteus. Great movie, but I digress.)

Sorry for my brain fart. Sincere apologies. I just want to know if reading all this gibberish by leftists is damaging to the rest of us. It is certainly depressing to see how stupid they are, with no hope in sight for their changing.

True. Half of the people who care one way or the other.

I wish I had a nickel for every time I have objected when a liberal has done that. But two wrongs do not make a right. "They did it first" is an excuse for children.

If an administration cannot get the people in the country on board with a war, as in the case of Viet Nam, then we have to question the justifications and rationale for the war and the administration's actions, not the people criticizing the administration.

Conservatives opposed military action when a Democrat was in charge. Were they aiding the enemy?

It is not about "supporting America," but rather about which faction in the country you support.

Critics of US policy are criticizing the people in power. Why do you say what have "we" done wrong? I criticize what they have done wrong. I don't identify with the people in power - that is not a "we" that I belong to - and I don't think the people in power are America.

"Free oppressed people all around the world??" When did that happen? The opposite is true in Latin America, for example, with a long history there of the rich and powerful people in this country setting up and supporting brutal dictatorships. I suppose the slave traders, dealers and owners were freeing oppressed people. I suppose the genocide waged against the native peoples here was freeing oppressed people.

It is patriotic to question and criticize what wealthy and powerful people have done in our name.

I know that Steve03 is a liberal and I assume a Democrat but I fail to see how his post turned political. Just some wise old sayings, some I have heard before and more than most makes a lot of sense.

Steve03, I know that we are on different sides of the fence but I take no offense to you post. I enjoyed reading it.

Steve03... I loved your post and so many of the observations are spot on in the common sense department...

Particularly liked #2. My brother was deathly afraid of bees and wasps.. He took my place disking while I had lunch one day.. Driving a 1948 John Deere... As I came out of the house and looked over into the field we were working, I suddenly saw my brother levitate (I swear 20 feet up...lol) and when he came down, he came down making the dust fly.... The John deere kept putting right along until it hit a fence row and finally killed itself. Dave (my brother) made it to the house flailing and hopping and hollering.... Seems he had run over a Yellow Jackets Nest.... but he managed to outrun them.... LOL....

Thank you for posting these, Steve, they are common sense, which I'm afraid isn't very common. I'm sorry some people felt they had to make it political.

It was fun reading!

Have you not heard of World War II? It raged throughout Europe, as well as Asia and across the Pacific Ocean.

How did this pleasant original post become political? What is the matter with some people? I didn't see anything liberal or conservative about those folksy sayings. Some of you folks are carrying mighty big chips on your shoulders.

Some people are highly allergic to yellow Jacket stings. My son will have to get to a hospital real quick as he may die on the way. Nothing to laugh about if you are allergic.

Why does it bother you? Something the matter with you?
Just asking.

Some people that at first glance appear to be normal are actually well balanced because they heave a chip on each shoulder. :XD:
