I didn't think you could compare a Canon to a Nikon.

I whole heartily agree with you, and yes both make great camera systems in fact I prefer Canon to the German stuff. I did have a Voutghlander film camera sold it used the money to buy my first Canon rangefinder film camera.

Marion, of course you can compare the two!!
But unless you are comparing and using a totally biased and in-denial criteria, you will come the same conclusion every time, no matter what you shoot with.

CANON IS NUMERO UNO!!!!!

And the rest are also running.

Nor will it won't change anytime soon!!

That's the trouble with NorCal wannabes.....you're all deluded. First you think you're part of Northern California, then you think that Canon is the best. Too bad, so sad.
Canon is okay, but it's not the best......by far. 8-)

You miss the point G Brown, the discussion is who is better between the lesser of two of three sisters. As soon as you introduce Sony then the discussion is who is best and then how much better the best is than Canon and Nikon.

Years ago there was a book about GM, "The Failure of Success." GM had the car market sewed up and ignored those stupid little imports, arrogance destroyed them. They made more of the same and did not innovate nor pay attention to quality. BOC, Buick, Olds, Cadillac, turned into "Big Ol' Cars."

Sony had a ready made client base. Yep people like me who had a box of Minolta glass from 85 on.

In short, a waste of electrons to write and time to read. If a camera system performs for the individual, who cares what the others offer?

"In short, a waste of electrons to write and time to read."
That's why I find it hard to understand how someone can compare Canons to Nikons.

Those electrons were grounded like misbehaving kids.
