My first attempt....
I'd rather aim my camera at something that doesn't move, but the osprey at the Bayard Cutting Arboriutm seemed to cooperate with me for a little while.
Hope they came out ok.....
#3 is a beauty! Have you used exposure compensation before? For #1, if you could have set exposure a bit lighter, you could catch more detail in the birds. #2 is a fun shot :)

Thanks for the top Linda, and I'm really new at this, have been stuck in auto way to long, so I really don't know what that means....
I should really take a class...

Classes are great if you like structure and assignments and interacting with other students. Otherwise, there are lots of great books and videos + help on UHH :)
One place to start is a book highly recommend on this forum: Bryan Peterson's "Understanding Exposure."

Thanks for the advise Linda...
I did take a couple of classes at my library, problem is, I think I'm an old dog that can't learn new tricks... lol
I watch many youtube videos and that helps. I will look into the book you recommend and also the meaning of exposure compensation...
thanks again!!!

Linda, just want you to know, I looked up exposure compensation... thank you for enlightening me!!! I never knew what that meter in my camera was for, I just figured the needle should be on the heart.... so wrong!
Thanks again, love learning something new!!

Angela,
Nice shots! I think I like #2 the best! I too am new and moved out of auto mode about a month ago. (Just to "P" mode but hope to learn all modes at some point!)
Thanks for sharing!

Good start Angela.
Did you know there is a nest at Hecksher park ( south shore) just east of parking lot 5 where you can get VERY close to the nest, so close that if a bird ejects you better be wearing rain gear. As you approach the water the nest is visable to the left down the paved path
Also another nest at Timber Point County Club, West Marina at the far end of the parking lot. You may also see Snowy Egret, Great Egret, Green Heron and Night Heron.
Also just before the gate at Timber Point Country club is a little beach where I shoot sunrise and my latest fox shots were taken there.
HAPPY shotin
Very nice shots, Angela, especially like #3!

Bruce, I just want to thank you for taking the time to fill me in on these places of interest! I did make note of them and I will get there one day, and when I do, I'll be sure to post whatever pictures I think are good enough.
Thank you again.....
