This my first time,I'm new at digital pictures. I have a Canon XSI with a 18/55mm and 55/250mm lens. We're going to Hawaii, My question is what else in lens do I need wide angle.telephoto add on adapters.
Sorry if my questions dumb. I'm really green at this, i was hopping that someone could give me some direction.
Thanks Tom

Tom, at this stage, the two lenses you have are fine. They will let you learn and grow. There is no reason , at this stage of your DSLR career, to get anything else for your vacation. DO not get any telephoto adapters, 2X doublers or whatever. They only degrade the image, for the most part, unless you're buying the $400 Canon ones, and you don't sound like that's in your immediate future. Just be careful of the humidity in Hawaii, and have fun.

All right, looking forward to it. We'll keep an eye on the house, just in case. You did stop the paper, right? Oven off? Small light in the hallway left on?..good...have fun. :)

I agree with Jim for the most part. If you think you want to do macro closeups you might consider an extension tube. Not as good as a macro lens but you can get a good shot for very little investment.

I would make sure I had a tripod or at the very least a bullhead monopod. And on those "wide angle" landscape scenes take several overlapping panorama shots (manually set the exposure and don't change it and remove polarizer filter). That way you "have the shot" and can always merge them into a panorama image later.

If you don't have one, I would consider a sling pack (small enough for carry-on)

Can't wait to see them.
