I finally got my hands on a Tamron 150-600mm lens. My only disappointment so far has been that the lens didn't come with a bag, (probably due to low price of lens). Has anyone been able to find a lens case that will accommodate the lens plus the hood in the reverse position.
I have found that it fits quite well in the case that comes included with the Sigma 150-500 and 50-500mm lenses. They can often be found on Ebay.
I leave all my hoods in the taking position and cap the hood for protection 24/7. - But, you need an oversize case to accomodate that.
I considered the Sigma bag but Sigma lens is smaller than the Tamron.
I bought a lowpro 13x32 fits good

I just checked and you are right, the Sigma is a bit shorter. But The Tamron is almost exactly the same dimensions as the Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 (I knew there was a case match as I tried the Tamron in my Sigma cases at the store for a customer once). That case is even heavier duty because of the lenses 6+ pound weight. Its part #LS-137K and sells for $33 at Sigma (on back-order) or for $59 at dealers.
Can you leave the lens hood (reverse position) on, and still use the Lowpro 13 x 32
Thanks. I should have checked to see of there were previous posts regarding the lens case. Looks as if the Lowpro is the way to go.

I bought a LowPro from Stableduck, and it fits perfectly. Enjoy your new lens. I love mine! :-D

I do not think so, the LowePro is about 12" long inside. In the earlier topic which I linked above, imagemeister suggested the
Ape Case ACPROLC18 which is 14.5", enough room for the lens with the hood attached.
