If you have been taking pictures these past few weeks of the Eagles in your area would you please share them. I dream of having a larger lens so I can really get upclose and personal with these Birds. I took my husband with me today and he only lasted a couple hours, next time, I'll take someone who has more patience. I love him and I was glad for the company. Honestly, I could spend hours in the Grafton and Alton area taking more pictures.

Looks like you got a pretty good shot in the third image! Lucky you have these huge birds. Aren't they grand!

These weren't taken in the last few weeks but the last time I went out looking for eagles. It is in the Cane Creek area of Arkansas. It's probably time to go again.

Thanks. They are fun to watch and it takes time to find the right place to shoot and a long lens helps.

What lens do you use? I have a Nikon D5000 that I used with a Nikor 70-300 mm lens.

I use a Sigma 50-500 and a Canon 70-200 with either a 1.4 or 2.0 Canon extender. I'd like a longer Canon but the Sigma does quite well for me.

Great shots, both. I'm glad to hear the Sigma does a good job!

I would love to be able to see them period. I live in west TX and they aren't around here. My husband said he'd take me to a place where I can get them sometime. He's always thinking about me and my love for photography.

We might be in the same neighborhood. Alton is about 30-40 minutes almost due North of me (metro east STL) My sister used to work with the World Bird Sanctuary for like 12 years and educated people about those glorious magnificent creatures.

I live about 90 miles south of St. Louis, but I don't mind the drive and spend it in Alton and Grafton. Your sister was a lucky lady to have learned about them and to share with everyone.
