What kind of bird

Not good at identifying birds. A local called it a flycatcher.
Nikon D3200 55-300VR lens @ 300
f5.6 1/500 AF apetrue priority
heavily cropped, contrast and shadow fill iso 200

Nice shot, I would think some kind of Blue Jay, but I don't know very much about birds, unless they have engines :lol:

Agree, engines are much easier to identify. Too many years working on engines and not enough time taking pictures.

Man I sure wish we had some out here, nice looking bird. All I have that are blue is Blue Jays but the Crows are scaring them off.

The male mountain bluebird. I checked my Sibley's, Audobon and Smithsonian bird guides. I would like to think it's the bluebird of happiness.

I miss the blue jay from Missouri. The jays here are different. Thanks for the compliment.
