Moon Photographed with Tamron 150-600mm (Posted 06-23-2014)

New Post... looks similar to previous post but with increased sharpening...

I took this Moon photo using my Canon 60D + Tamron 150-600mm lens + 2.0x Kenko Pro 300 TC + 1.4x Kenko Pro 300 TC at 2040mm; 1/166th sec at f/7.4 - ISO 1600

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio - USA
Date: 06-06-2014
Eastern Time: 10:29:45 PM
Moon Phase: 62.2% Waxing
Moon Relative Position: Approximately 225 degrees east of north; Approximately 37.5 degrees above the horizon.

Moon Inverted - Personal Preference... Additional Sharpening Performed.

Those are some good shots! Guess I'll have to wait a couple weeks to try mine on the moon, but that is a definate target! I'll have it out under some dark skies this weekend, so will have fun seeing what it will do.

Don't forget I used two Kenko TCs at the same time which gave a total of 3.4x increase over the 600mm... or 2040mm... that doesn't include sensor or print factors...

Right. I'm wondering what the native lens will do. I have a whole hand full of telescopes, but it's fun to see what you can do with just a camera lens.

I also have a Dynamax 8" SCT and a 90mm refractor but the Tamron is a snap to take out and setup... the Dynamax can give you a hernia... The Tamron 150-600mm lens has a 105mm diameter lens and is very easy to setup.
