Tried shooting this tiny jumper after finding the pull-down diffuser cloth inside my 6x8 Fotodiox Diffuser. Think this did improve the disbursement of the flash, but pics are still soft. Canon 7d, Canon 100mm 2.8L macro lens, Canon 430EXII Speedlite with diffuser. Still like telling this dinner-time tale.

Suggestion: Make one exposure at f/11; another at f/16. Adjust speedlight output for proper exposure. Compare for resolution improvement.
Are you shooting in raw + high rez JPG?

OK. I'll try to 2 f/stops next time. I took some today with both raw and high res JPG today, but these were only high res JPG. I had been shooting only in raw for the past month but haven't liked my PP with RAW. I know it should be better but I just can't handle it yet.
High rez JPG are just fine for evaluating resolution, etc.
I process my raw files in FastStone Image Viewer:
http://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDetail.htmI start with
1.)
Colors = 'Adjust Colors' (side-by-side view); then
2.)
Colors = 'Sharpen/Blur' (15%); then
3.)
File = 'Save As' (new name).
Then 'Crop' in any program you like. I use Picasa 3.

The fox butt is pretty cool:thumbup:
I'm attempting to PP raw more and more often but, still can't quite get them to my satisfaction. They are improving but, still....

Nice capture sford
You would have a nasty disposition too if you had to go through life with a fox painted on your butt.

Well noticed, do you know the species?
Thanks Douglass but I mean't the spider not the fox. Did you make the 'buttecus' bit up?

Fox-butt Jumping spider (Vulpes buttecus).

What is it you say in situations like this, is it "Bad dog"? Ha Ha, I like your sense of humour.

Thanks oldtigger. You are right. Wonder how many hound dog spiders chase him through the trees!
