Views trying to capture the feeling of being drawn to the light ...
Beautiful interior....
I have a water color painting of Carmelo that was done in the late 1800's before it was restored... The Mission was built in 1777... I will try and send it.. Not good as its behind glass...
It is still in orginal frame..

Thank you for the image of the old Mission, Don. The facade is intact and looks as it does today. The star window over the entrance was created to capture the sun the morning of the summer solstice and channel a bright ray through the nave to the altar. Unfortunately it was foggy June 21 at 6:12 a.m., so I couldn't see it. It may be visible in the missions inland, far from the coastal mist.
The shots posted are my practice shots for the solstice which didn't materialize, or at least wasn't visible.
Thanks again. Great hearing from you ...
