I want the new Sigma 18-35 1.8 lens for Canon bad after reading all the rave reviews. B and H and Adorama are both out, message states on both sites: back ordered. I have never encountered this before. Is this common? Price is $799 at both sites. Am wondering how long it will take to get restocked, any guesses? Thanks.

It is even listed as backorder on the sigma web site so it may be a while.

thanks, Adorama site says I can preorder and credit card won't be billed until lens ships, but I am hesitant to do that as it may be quite some time and I'd hate to be locked into one store.

I can tell you that I pre-ordered my Tamron 150-600 from B&H with the same concern you expressed. The person I spoke to in customer service told me I could cancel at any time before the lens was shipped. I would think, but am not sure, that Adorama has the same policy.I considered ordering from Adorama at the same time and then canceling one order when I received notice that my lens was being shipped, but decided to just leave well enough alone.

I'm sure you are right. I have dealt with both stores and both seem to be above average in the customer care department. How long did you have to wait for your lens?

I am not sure you were talking to me, but if you were - I have not received my Tamron lens yet. I ordered it just a couple of weeks ago and have no idea where I fall in line to get mine.

Put your order in and wait, it took me 5 months to get mine when they first came out. Believe me, it was worth the wait!!

I have just gone FF, so I have a slightly used one. $650.00 + shipping. Excellent condition.
