Ian Barber, is a recent addition to the UHH community and has posted some amazing b/w photos. I don't know if anyone has checked out his website but I just did and have found he has something quite good there.
He has written a program, as a Photoshop CS5 add-on called Monobox. It is for sale but at an extremely low cost ( 8 GBP or $12.50 US)for what it does and is worth checking out.
Monobox produces a single panel to do everything you would wish to do in a B/W conversion. All the necessary tools of Photoshop are brought into one single panel rather than having to hunt all over photoshop for the necessary tool for a particular action. He also has two short videos on the site that show exactly what Monobox can do.
For anyone doing B/W conversions it is well worth a look.

Admin will probably "Box my ears" for posting this in the photography forum but I thought it was worthwhile getting the knowledge out there.

John.

Thanks for the link, I may give it a run , especially for that amount of money.

Am always on the look out for programs to recommend to my students , many of which are hesitate about more complex programs.

I also need to go find his website.
