Not very impressive results. I can do the same with a Softar filter and an 81A filter in camera. Results are just too soft in the examples.

Well there are higher res versions at the website that you can just click on and open full screen. They are sharper than the low res ones. Although the intent of the action is to soften some while still retaining sharp edges. And it does. Even if you don't agree. Although you might want to give the benefit of the doubt because looking though your examples posted at http://www.photoshop.com/users/photoz99/albums/faf265dbfdc14741bb897da683dbd756 show your images to be pretty soft as well. That is probably because of the low resolution representation of your work on that website. I don't fault you at all. So please give me the same benefit of the doubt.

I appreciate that you prefer doing everything in cam and probably don't get into post processing as much as us newer photographers do. But afterwards, you cannot go throw on some filters in front of the lens. This is a post process technique where you have already taken the image, and are deciding if you can/should/want to enhance it or improve on it. Not everybody is in to that. So I understand.

I think it improves. You do not. That's cool.

Secondly, many of us don't own a suite of filters and can plan ahead what they want to do with them. I do have a suite of filters, but as I am shooting a wedding, I don't have the luxury in time to be able to be in constant motion of changing filters out as I shoot. Instead I take the best image I can using camera settings and lenses only (like the before example), and choose to post process later.

Post process has just become a part of the modern day photography landscape.

Now you have made it a point to illustrate how you feel about this. And you are entitled to your opinion. I respect it. But to continue to go on about it really is not necessary is it? If you think this is silly, not very well done, etc. then fine. You have made your point. Let the rest of us make our decisions now.

...wow...

Could it be the MT just does not like your style? Or jealous maybe? LOL. I went to his site to look at his work and well I don't think he should be throwing stones in his glass house.

I appreciate the tutorial, myself. Keep it up. Some people just apparently don't live by the old saying that if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.
