Plug your phone into your mac and open finder. click on the phone and download the jpeg files to either the desktop or your downloads file and go from there.

Or you can email the JPG to your computer, save it on the computer (in any folder, including Desktop (but NOT iPhoto), and import it into iPhoto.

If you download directly from your phone you will keep the original file size of your photos. If you email them to yourself, they will be compressed. I recommend that you download directly to your Mac.
