Recently I bought a wireless shutter release from Vello that wants to reside in the hotshoe of the camera. The problem is, I sometimes want to use my 600RT speedlight and I can't figure out or find a product that fixes this little nuisance.
I can't mount a bracket onto my tripod mount because it's likely to have a tripod mounted to it.
The cable from the transmitter into the port of the camera is maybe 6 inches so I'm pressed for placement.
Any solutions would be greatly appreciated in advances. Thanks!
they make a model that has a hot shoe for a flash its twice the price

You can just let it dangle, you can attach it to the camera strap with a 1/4" bolt and velcro (punch hole in velcro strap, run bolt through hole into receiver, wrap velcro around camera strap), or you can use a bracket.
For the bracket, I've used the flimsy flat bracket with flimsy cold shoe mount on the side of the camera. If you're going to mount it on a tripod, then get a long arca bracket with threaded holes on the end and screw a cold shoe into one end. Use an arca ball head for your tripod, or screw a mount plate into the other hole on the arca bracket.
I attach a bracket to the bottom of the camera and mount the receiver to the bracket.
Thank you for your time & effort JC and Mogul.
