Bird on Branch (BOB) at 758mm

Just a lowly starling probably in search of someone else's nest to invade. I liked the way the branches created a frame around the subject.

Settings: ISO 80, 758mm, f/5.6, 1/320 of a second. Select download for full resolution.

Thanks. It was shot with the Canon SX50 with it's super zoom. 8-)

His iridescence really shows well in this one, Bmac. I like the branches framing him as well. A beautiful shot of an often maligned bird. Nice job!

Thanks for the feedback Randy. Starlings are maligned for good reason. I watched a pair evict a red bellied woodpecker from a cavity in a tree she had nested in since last year. She hopped from branch to branch shrieking at the starlings for three days before finally leaving the area. Federal law does not protect starlings so adults, young, and nests can be legally destroyed. 8-)

This shot is so pretty...like the clarity... I keep telling myself I don't need an SX50 & then I see another post like this one that is so pretty ! :)
