Photographed at the Marine Nature Study Area in Oceanside, New York. Nothing extraordinary but I liked the warmth of the late afternoon light and the golden grasses. Settings: ISO 80, 213mm, f/5.6, 1/400 of a second.

Critique, comments and suggestions welcomed. Thanks. 8-)

Like it very much, that grass look dry and begging for rain.

Thanks Sirius. If it wasn't for the lighting I probably would not have taken the shot. 8-)

Is that how you see it? Sorry, couldn't resist.

This photo was taken in March of this year before we began to get the spring rains. Glad you liked it and thanks for commenting. 8-)

Beautiful details in the download. My personal preference would be if you cropped out the bottom third of the photo. All the real cool stuff is going on in the reflections of the first "pool". Keep the second "pool" for balance, but anything below that gets to be redundant.

Thanks for the crop suggestion Bob. I have another photo of the scene as you describe, closer in and without needing a crop to be consistent with your idea. Your point is valid, but I feel the additional foreground added to a feeling of depth and scale which I like in this picture. 8-)

Very nice. This looks like one of our local scenes this time of year except the water would probably be dried up. I like the contrasting warm and cool colors and the way you've composed this.

Kind of remindes me of the White Stone Bridge, another bridge to nowhere. Just had to say that, being an up stater. LOL
