alissaspieces has volunteered their WPC 1423 - Refraction entry to the Photo Critique Forum* to find out what they could have done to make it better. Be nice, but be honest as this will help everyone with their craft. Thank you alissaspieces and thank you everyone!

The colors are beautifully saturated without being over the top. the lines are quite sharp. My only criticism would be the difference in size between the two drops. I think the small one should perhaps be larger to better fit with the other drop and the size of the tip.

I love this picture! I thought it was very creative and original! How did you create it?

Arrangement of items are Ok, but as pointed out by AzPicLady all of the items are not presented in a good perspective.

I like the title of the photo, Patriotic Refraction, and the photo conveys such.

It looks like the beads of water are falling from a pencil with white lead, which would not be a natural occurrence to the viewer.

I think you were up against some pretty tough competition. I think you also did a better job of capturing the refraction than some of the people who scored higher. What I think cost you was the use of a pencil in your competition. It has nothing to do with the topic. I feel you would have been better off cropping out the pencil and going with the star and two drops. As others have said it would be nice to have the other drop a little larger, but I have a feeling this wasn't a one shot deal. I bet you had to work to get what you have. Nice job on capturing the refraction.
