When is the in camera lens data applied to the image.

Is the data just included in raw file or is it applied to the raw file image?

If there is a Canon rep on UHH maybe he can answer the question.

I have the 1.4 X series III extender and need to sharpen up the images hopefully using the lens data/extender data.

Proper lens data is in the camera

Can't answer for Canon but I've tested and found the lens correction data isn't applied to RAW images on Nikons. If they tell you that in the manual I can't find it.

So I apply it in Lightroom.

Hi mntman

That is the impression I got but was not sure.

I use Canon's DPP program to convert from raw to *.tif. and when I apply the lens corrections with DPP the raw image almost doubles in size.

In the camera the file stays basically the same with or without lens correction enabled.
