Testing one lens, two bodies

I have had a Sigma SD10 since about 2004 or so. Multiple lenses. Then in Feb 2012 I found an SD14 with Sigma 70mm F2.8 Macro on ebay for less then the price of the lens at that time. Never owned a macro so I bought them, used them to do snap shots of a few functions but never really tested them. Got sick, forgot about them. Got Canon 6D last fall, preoccupied with new toy, Sigmas slept in cases. Was dusting and rearranging camera stuff and remembered them, esp the lens, don't have a real macro for the 6D. Tested both bodies with the lens as well as I could in the yard. Wind pretty high, hard to get flower shots, wouldn't stay in field of focus. But did the best I could under the circumstances. Will be a total of 5 shots when I finish. Comments etc. welcome. Worth working at it to learn them?

I think you did well. I love Jacks and they tend to protect their territory.

I think your photos are OK but I have a question. Why do your testing under less than ideal conditions? Certainly the wind must stop at some time during the day. Why not wait until you have optimal conditions to conduct an appropriate test?

Just a spur of the moment impulse thing.

Besides I was bored, not much action on UHH at the time, don't like 99% of TV, had read the paper, just finished Shaara's "The Smoke At Dawn" and wasn't ready to start another book yet, etc etc etc.

I have a nice snail shell I found in the flower bed at the Civic Center on election day that I am going to do more deliberate testing with, including the ring flash I bought on impulse during a sale by Sigma.

Now I understand. Been there before too.

Thanks,

Had her since she was 10 weeks and 2 1/2 lbs She used to sleep on my lap or shoulder in the lounge chair while I read or watched a movie. My wife gave her the name because she drove the cats upstairs wanting them to play with her. (also she liked my stereo wires, to chew in half) She has chased all the possums out of our yard. One night she cornered a coon bigger then her in the swimming pool, had to pick her up so the coon could get out and over the fence.
