Astrophotography requires more patience and critical work than any portrait of a rowdy and uncooperative family. Good luck, have fun, keep smiling, and don't give up. It can be really rewarding.

Right. I have basics right now but too cold to try them out.

1. 15 pictures of a nebula area for 15-20 seconds each ( telescope has GPS and rotates to follow target )
2. 15 pictures with telescope lens cap on
3. 15 pictures with lens cap on and highest iso allowable.
4. Put all into DeepSkyStacker and process for an hour or two.

Thank you Sarge, my cap's off to you!

Been shooting since the 70's and still blow the shot sometimes... for stupid reasons.

The truth is always welcome.

Sarge, I believe you have a Nikon D5100...not sure.
What adapter(s) do you have or are using?
Do you think Meade adapters will work on an Orion telescope?

Thanks,
Indi
