Great reflections in the photos, looks like a nice serene place to take a walk.

All nice. Photo #1 with stump has a subject. I wish it was balance a bit different with the thirds.

Meives, I agree...just wasn't sure how to do that...I was so intrigued with the "stump" and the coloring...thanks though!

Very nice. I live in York and drive past that lake quite often - never realizing what a photographic treasure it is.

I've never been there in the winter ...it's really beautiful and such a nice walk around the lake...it's really beautiful in spring and summer!

Love #2 and 3 The stump breaking the horizon is distracting because the background is also in focus so I don't know what to look at. Since you were enamored by the stump shoot at a shallow depth of field and get closer to the stump. We will then be able to see what you loved about it. Nice work.

I don't know if I agree with your statement. Portraits often have a soft background. I have seen nice landscapes with subject up front and all clear and focused.

Hi Meives if you read again what I wrote you will see I have suggested will get the same result you are suggesting Shallow depth of field (f5.6 to 8) on the stump will produce a nice soft background.
