White House Denies It Had Evidence Bergdahl Declared Himself Islam Warrior

The White House said it had not seen any evidence to corroborate a report that Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl converted to Islam during his captivity or declared himself a "mujahid," or warrior for Islam.

"We have seen no evidence of that," deputy national security adviser Tony Blinken told CNN when asked about a Fox News report outlining Bergdahl's behavior while in captivity, according to The Hill.

The Fox News report said that secret documents based on an eyewitness account of parts of Bergdahl's five-year captivity show that at times he had a seemingly friendly relationship with his captors, and was seen playing soccer, frequently laughing, and using the word "salaam," or "peace" in Arabic.

He also allegedly participated in target practice with his captors and was allowed to carry a gun, the report said. At the same time, it indicated that Bergdahl tried to escape his captors five times, and was punished by being kept in a metal cage.

The report was based on a series of dispatches from October 2009 until August 2012 by a private intelligence agency, Eclipse Group, founded by former CIA officer Duane "Dewey" Clarridge. Thirteen early reports, including one in which Bergdahl reportedly referred to himself as a "mujahid," were sent to Brig. Gen. Robert P Ashley Jr., director of intelligence at U.S. Central Command.

"The idea that we are trying Sgt. Bergdahl in the court of public opinion in abstentia, without giving him an opportunity to give his story and to tell us what happened, frankly, I find repugnant," Blinken added, according to the Hill. "We don't know what happened. We are determined to get to the bottom of it."

The New York Times, meanwhile, reported that the Army produced a 35-page classified report detailing its investigation into Bergdahl's disappearance. It said he wandered away from assigned areas at other times during his service, both during training in California and from his post in Afghanistan, but then returned.

The report, which was based on extensive interviews with members of Bergdahl's unit in 2009, did not make mention of Bergdahl leaving a letter in his tent about being disillusioned with his military service and the U.S. mission in Afghanistan, as some of his fellow platoon members have told the media this week.

It did confirm that Bergdahl had shipped his computer and journal home before leaving his post, and that he left behind his body armor and machine gun.

Suggesting that this piece of garbage is more likely to tell the truth about "what happened" than his team mates are is an insult to men that you're not fit to do their laundry, and while we're on the subject of things that you "find repugnant", please be advised that about 80% of American citizens find your constantly lying "boss" EXTREMELY "repugnant" as well!

BTW.....that's "troll woman" you're talking to.... what troll woman is......is a bitter, disgruntled old woman who had a terrible mishap with 4 semis in a blinding snow storm a few years ago, and she thinks the big wreck was ALL their fault, because THEY were out driving in such terrible weather! (Don't even ask why SHE was driving in such weather; ) a day or so after she told me all of this, she found out that I had driven big trucks for over 40 years, and NOW I'm partly to blame for HER being in a wheel chair! (and when she found out that I'm a full-fledged, card carrying Conservative, she REALLY flipped out! (And yes, she sure is a "dimocRAT"! )

Now let me tell you the BAD part about her.....she thinks a 92 year old war hero who received the M.O.H. in WW2 as a Sgt. then stayed in the Army, fought in Korea, was commissioned, served in Veit Nam, and finally retired after almost 40 years of service to his country as a full "bird Colonel", is "an old buzzard", and should "follow the rules"!

After roughly 2 million miles and over 40 years of driving in every state south of Canada, (and even IN Canada quite a bit, ) I can guarantee you that I AM in fact VERY "familiar" with "blizzards" "whiteouts", "tornados", "hurricanes" "floods", and snow on roads that was ass-deep to a big tall giraffe!

The reason that I'm thanking is really obvious to anyone with any common sense or intelligence, both of which you are sadly lacking in, BTW. In making this pathetic, desperate "RANT", you have just demonstrated for "all to see", what a pathetic, miserable old fool you really are! In doing that, you have now relieved me of the further need to make insulting remarks about you when you continue to make a fool of yourself on every topic I post; from now on, rather that wasting my time thinking up comments to counter YOUR ignorant remarks, I'll merely use the "quote-reply" button, so that EVERYONE who ever reads this forum will sooner or later read this diatribe of YOURS! Thanks for the information Gitzo, and I have been out on several road trips taking photographs as the splendor and opportunities are awesome here in Colorado. I had no idea this nescient poster was a woman. That explains it all. Her juvenile repeated use of thumbs up/down, simply shows her lack of an intellectual response to an issue. So childish, but that is the typical fall back position for a dimicrat.

I truly am sorry to hear she is in a wheel chair that was caused by an accident involving big trucks, but I have found that most uneducated auto drivers have a propensity to blame anyone but themselves for their poor driving capabilities. In her case it was a truck driver, but we are used to the perceived blaming from simpletons such as her infesting our highways.

I still stand by my statement she is not a photographer, but nothing more than an angry old haybag who has found a forum where she can post her libby/dimicrat garbage. I do indeed feel sorry for her.
