Erika, the dog and I went backpacking this weekend in Pa. We were on the Appalachian Trail; but the section we chose really did not have any great scenic wonders. So I focused on the smaller things. Some water, some backlit leaves, and the trail itself. Hope some of these are entertaining.

Very lovely, interesting shots Erich. Did Erika feel nostalgic about her recent journey?
Good hiking shots. Makes me want to get out!

Yes, I'm sure she did. Before we left, she baked a few batches of brownies. Then, whenever we came across a through-hiker, she gave them brownies. So I would say: nostalgic, yes: regretful: no. Glad you enjoyed the photos.

I enjoyed your pics, when I hike the AT , I start on top Of blue Mountain on rt 309 and hike a few hours in and a few hours out.
wonderful captures! the AT is an exciting adventure.
We walked Springer Mountain end a few days. Memories last a life time
Sounds great. We were only out for a weekend this time. The next trip is a bit more adventurous. In July we plan to hike the Northville Placid trail in the Adirondacks. That would be a through hike of about 130 miles. We are giving ourselves 10-14 days for the trip. I'm hoping to get some really nice photos on that trip.

Thanks. Other than some snapshots around camp, that is one of my favorites from the weekend. The sky was being kind to me. Graduated ND Filter in Lightroom helped as well.

It is a lot of fun. My wife complained that the photos were not really very spectacular. I pointed out the fact that some people don't go backpacking and might want to see what the Eastern United States forests look like even though there aren't always spectacular views. Thanks for taking a look. Glad you enjoyed the photos.
Your "view" is a great and beautiful shot. Thnx for posting.
