Balloonfest Which one do you like better?

I shot this at a balloonfest here, in Kansas City. Which one has more impact? #1, or #2. I am leaning toward #1 myself. I am trying to improve my composition.

I think #2 also. What if you eliminated the balloon on the right entirely in the crop. This would take the woman from dead center moving her to the right in the frame. I think it would make for a more interesting composition. Just a thought, it's a good shot as is.

I like number 2 better. You filled the frame with subject matter, not grass. Do you prefer number 1 because it complies more closely with the rule of thirds? If so, you've got two photos here with conflicting rules, pick one. Either one works.

I like number two.....with less grass in the foreground it draws your eye to the person and ballons

Of the two, I like #2 best but maybe if you had just cropped the grass as you did and left the top part as it was it would be a little better.

If you like #1 that's what counts. Personally, I like #2 but would crop it as others have mentioned on this thread. A crop where the lady is walking into the frame would still give a perspective.

Speaking of which, now I am being totally serious here, what is the subject in this photo? The girl, or the balloon(s)? The reason I ask is because the last time that I had an art class was back in junior high. Too me, it would be the balloons because that is what I was actually shooting. I was fortunate enough to have this lady walk by to give it some sense of perspective. I wonder if, in this case it could go either way?
