To prove that "Gear'itus", is not confined just to those new to photography (noobs). I thought I would start an on going thread, for those of us that should have better sense; but don't. To show off our latest!, Gear'itus purchases.

I have two larger compacts a G12, and an SX150 is. So what did I do, I spotted this gadget, and of course - I ordered it. Let you know, how it comes out later. :)

I never knew I needed that!
One of those "what the heck is that?" accessories.

Naw, here is the one for the bigger Pro Cage. You gotta watch this, see what he does to the camera right off the bat. :)

Can we spell - "PLASTIC" (catch).
But I really don't see, throwing my camera up in the air anytime soon.

They say the difference between men & boys is the size of their toys.
I think the one with the most toys at the end wins.

Not a bad idea. You may not be throwing your camera in the air, but I dropped my P&S from about 12-15" and cracked the view screen. I wrote to one of the cell phone case companies and asked why they don't make cases for P&S cameras. Never heard from them.

Well here you go - there is a smaller size, for more or less regular P&S cameras. This one is for cameras sized like the canon G12, or Nikon P7000, and maybe the Panasonic LX5.

Here is a link, to some of the other sizes.

I just ordered and received from BH Photo a Vello (VERWS1) freewave wireless remote shutter release for my Sony Alpha A300. I already have a remote cable release but the aspect of Wireless intrigued me. Works up to 320' from camera and will trigger single shot; bulb; 2 second release; all from the remote. Have yet to try everything out and will report once I do. It adapts to most cameras on the current market just by changing the small cable that runs from the receiver to the particular camera cable release being used. For $39.95 it is a steal. It also has "half press' to allow the camera to focus.

This I don't know about, maybe I could hold my ham sandwich with it ???. Just a pun. :)

Well come to think of it, after I really looked at it. I could hold my small 12" Interfit light reflector with it, or even the bigger 22". HHHHMMMMmmm.

My dogs ran into my tripod a couple weeks ago and bent one of the legs ... so naturally that meant I needed a bigger better one ... which I got ... but that led to a shutter release cable ... then polarizing filters .... and that led to a macro lens ... and filters for that ... so all in all I really need to give my dogs a treat :)
