OK, so let's say I'm sitting in McDonalds with my family. It's late afternoon, and we're the only ones in the restaurant. In walks some guy with an AK-47 slung around his shoulder, which righties feel is his right. As he walks by me, I make a comment to my wife, and he turns around and makes what I feel is a threatening move. I then pull out my revolver and kill him, claiming my rights under stand your ground laws. No witnesses, just my wife and I. What a country!!! Thanks, righties. Kill at will, even open carry zealots, and claim self defense. Love it.

Let's say he did threaten you and he shot your wife and you had no means to protect her and you're welcome.

What was the threatening move... Did he pull up his long gun and point it at you... Of course if he did that and you tried to pull a pistol, more than likely you would be dead...
If there were any witnesses in the MacDonalds.... they would have to verify that he threatened you... not just made a move that YOU thought was threatening... Lots of variables there...

It wasn't the righties that told you to kill a man just because you didn't like him (ooops, you thought he made a threatening move toward you) You really need to do a little research on the silliness you spout here....... The VAST majority of Open Carry proponents would totally be against some idiont carrying an AK-47 into a business.. Why don't you put up a little stand on the street corner and offer a cup of coffee or glass of cold water to anyone who would answer two simple questions

1) do you have a permit to conceal or open carry of a firearm.

2) If the answer is YES.. then ask them, do you advocate carrying an AK-47 into a business OTHER than a gun shop..

In the small town I live in, I have estimated that at least 85% of the residents of the county have 1 or more guns... Generally a couple of side arms and a Shotgun and a Rifle.... I have never seen one carry either of the long guns into a business.... BUT I would also expect the following exchange if they did..

""Hey Jake, whatcha got there, a new shotgun"" ""Yeah Man, I just bought it yesterday, wanna take a look at it..."" "Shore do buddy, it looks like a real nice one....(Breaks it open to make sure no shells in it) Man, it really feels good, bet those quail are quaking in their feathers right now....""

The world isn't as evil as you think... well, the right side isn't anyway...

Mike

Did you read this nonsense of Open Carry TX this past week? Even the NRA called them "weird", the OCT began cutting up their NRA membership cards and the NRA put out another statement to cover for the first! They're doing themselves a real disservice. Sad!

There are quite a few states where open carry is permitted and has been for some time. I know it's a controversial issue and as far as I know the NRA is more reserved in their position than are other pro gun organizations. I'm not sure what specific nonsense you are referring to regarding the situation in Texas.

OCT has been thrown out of many businesses, restaurants, dept. stores, etc., because they carry assault looking guns into them.

before you shoot, you might want to consider some common sense.

I can't imagine carrying an "assault looking" gun around, I agree that seems a bit weird. Some folks just out trying to prove a point I guess. I think businesses have every right to say no not in here.

No doubt. Something akin to what a 10 year old Progressive would think up.

In the last month at Walmart, they've had two shootings, guys reaching for their wallets and I believe one dropped his gun and it went off and another was reaching for his wallet. Both ended up shooting themselves.
