Honor Flight funded a trip for my Father to visit the WWII Memorial in D.C. I went as his Guardian and took a lot of photos. It was a very moving experience.Their goal is to get as many WWII Veterans to their Memorial as possible. It was compounded by the fact that my Dad cracked his hip just 10 days earlier. but we made it.!

AWESOME!!
Please pass the following message to your father from me:
Thank you, for your service to this country!!! Bless you, and get well, soon!
Warm wishes for a speedy recovery to your dad, along with a Thank You!
Thanks for posting.
I have a WWII vet friend who made an honor flight to DC from Charleston, SC. He gave me copies of photos taken by his family and I made a DVD collage with back ground music - very feeling. When the plane returned to Charleston it was welcomed with dual water hoses, a full honor guard, military bands, and hundreds of cheering people lined the halls at the airport terminal - wonderful. Thanks for sharing

You are so very welcome. My father was also greeted by Hundreds of people, and service men and women. Honor guards, speeches and bands. This was all done in Dayton, Ohio at 11:30 pm. Unbelieveable and moving.
This young man reached out to shake Dad's hand and every time I see it I get tears in my eyes. Sorry for the poor quality. I took it off a video.

I will give this to Dad and thank you.
This is a really good shot of some very special young men! They are there through rain, snow, sleet, or whatever! I love the respect being paid to those who were lost in the war.
