waterproof P & S

I'm heading to Hawaii in a couple of weeks, and though I will be bringing my DSLR and lenses, I will be doing a few activities where I will need a waterproof P & S camera. Para-sailing, outrigger canoeing, snorkeling, and who knows what else. Since I am a Nikon guy, I have been looking at a Nikon AW120, but I will consider other brands as well. Suggestions?

I purchased the Nikon AW120 for my sister and her pics were very good. She was whale watching, caught one breaching and then dunked the camera in the water to catch the whale below. Worked just fine. I'm getting one for me for the next time I go to Hawaii.

I have an earlier version, the AW100, and it's very nice, being able to do in-camera Panoramas (I think). I bought a refurb and saved quite a bit.

My rule of thumb to save weight and make things is easier is to travel by air with a Nikon 1 and a Nikon AW110

By car, two DSLR's.

To make PP easier, check the cameras before hand to make sure the time and date matches.

I agree! It was the most popular camera in our group on vacation in Jamaica - snorkling was on the agenda for most of them. Not everyone had their own SD cards, so I got those pictures to send to the owners later on. Really good quality pictures for such a small camera.

(Here I was the only one in our group with a waterproof camera and the only who didn't go snorkling or climbed Dunn's River Falls).

How about the GoPro Black? Takes video and still, and comes with a waterproof enclosure.

there have been other questions about this subject.type in the search area above and you will get more information to view. Oars w/w rafting rated the Olympus Tough as Num.1 this year. I have the Nicon AW 100 and have been very happy with it.I use it when Im sking;Kayaking and w/w rafting.the new Nicon is the aw120 I think.
