A few of the more difficult to find and to get close to birds from recent weeks. Heavily cropped so not crisp.

First time I've seen birds from Spain. Impressive. The stone curlews are especially exotic.

Thanks Bob for commenting. Yes, the stone curlews were a lucky find as was the Little Bittern - the first I had ever seen.

Great pictures of birds we would never see here. The white headed duck looks like he is wearing a 'Donald
Duck Mask' as a disguise.

Thanks Tpharm, I agree about the duck he does look like something from a fairground. The Coot's duckling looks like ET in red - see photo.

Very nice. I really like that last one.
When I was in the Navy back around 1971, my little ship stopped off for a day or two in Alicante. If I remember correctly it was on the "Spanish Riviera"
I remember buying a straw mat and lying on the beach.

Sounds like a happy memory, glad I brought it back to you and thanks for your nice comment. I expect you would find Alicante very different now and over populated.

I spent quite a bit of time in Barcelona, a day or two in Alecante and maybe one or two other Mediterranean cities (also a coupe of less notable Atlantic coast cities). I would go back to Barcelona in a heartbeat.
