I recently acquired D2X so I can try my old lenses from seventies and eighties. This one is Asunama 1:3.5 35-105mm
It used to be my *potret lens* my Nikon FM2 so named because I am strictly a hobby shooter. It weights nearly 2 pounds and then mounted on D2X let just say, holding it steady is not much of a problem. Even though it is an Ai lens and thus all manual.
I picked 4 photos from last week trip into the Kootenays and would appreciate the opinions on improvements.
All four shot in raw with pp, all initially underexposed.
this Dukobor couple was intrigued and posed for me
just one of the bridges on my way
old fateful W107
the clock on the tower was spot on......
Nice shots, but:
I may be a retired history teacher and not too swift at math. I only count 3 pictures.
Opps, just remembered, only three at once then have to add them one at a time.
Waiting for #4.
And there it is. Too bad there is so much stuff in the way. It is a good study of a nice building.
right, I had to grab the fourth one as separate lol
yes, agree, way too much stuff, its a busy intersection and I tried to avoid most of the cars.

nice work. I like all of them. Manual is a pain for
an old blind as a bat guy like me that refuses to
wear glasses. Great job.

I forgot to say so yesterday, but I love the color, I used to love Kodachrome also. That old camera and lens combo does good work, and you seem to be using them right.
As to vision, I am so near sighted I have trouble seeing my nose without glasses or contacts. In fact the old bit about getting far sighted after 40, it has just improved my vision, I am now 20/250 at 68 instead of 20/400+ at 28. (If I can make to about 150 I should be 20/20) Use the little diopter wheel on the view finder, works for me. Or get contacts, the soft ones work better than the old hard ones, just blink a lot and carry a pocket vial of artificial tears or wetting solution and use it often.
Thank You all for kind observations, yes I absolutely love this D2X camera although I also use the D5100, almost exclusively in RAW. I takes me longer but its worthwhile in the end.
I wish I could put my finger on why your photos pleased me so much.
I think it's just plain ol' good photos.
Thanks for posting; I enjoyed viewing your pictures.
Merry Christmas and ride dangerously :-)
