I'll shoot a few manual and post them soon for you to eyeball.

Thank you. That explains a lot. You probably would have chosen different settings than the camera did.

Anyone who has received their Tamron 150-600mm using it for sports? I was wondering about the performance. I have a 7d and would love to move up with this lens and on paper this appears to offer good low-light performance, something I'm missing with the Canon 70-300 f4-5.6 with the high shutter speeds needed for capturing lacrosse.

Mike, how do you like these....shot manual.

Curious here. What camera did you use and what mode? Just asking because the ISOs seem high, and the shutter speeds fast. I could be missing something, but I would think the shutter speeds could be considerable slower, allowing for a lower ISO which would mean less noise.
I am learning here, and by no means do I intend any offense. Just trying to put it all together.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi there. I am by no means any kind of expert. In my opinion, the exposures on the last 2 look pretty good to my eye. The first one seems underexposed. From what I am putting together, that may be due to the longer focal length with the lower ISO. Maybe up the ISO to,see what happens. As my,other half is so fond of telling me, " the film is free".

I ordered mine on Feb 20th and just got another, still on back order notice from B&H Photo. I have no idea what number I am on the list with them, but wish I did. :x

I ordered mine about a week ago from B&H and asked where I was on the list.
The rep told me he had no way of knowing. Somebody over there must at least know how many they have on back order.

Amazon says they have both the Nikon & Canon variant in stock - for a price: N - $1500, C - $1707. Different sellers for both. Also had a used Canon for $1795. Info as of 10 minutes ago.

I canceled my order at ADORAMA, instead I went for the SIGMA 150-500mm f/5-6.3 for $869.00. SIGMA has a $200.00 off the top of $1069.00. For my sports shooting this will work just fine. I didn't want to wait till Christmas for a new lens that might have problems. Good luck to all who have waited.

Ordered mine early June. Don't even want to think about it. Maybe by Easter of 2015?

Trying to get a ballpark idea of when my(and your) Nikon mount 150-600mm will be getting ready to ship. I preordered mine on May 3rd. Let's start keeping track of the latest preorder date vs delivery date. Who has preordered a NIKON mount and received. Please enter your order date and receive date. Let's keep it ongoing by date, ie, let's only update with a preorder/receive date newer the last posted date.

YIPPIE!!! I ordered mine from B&H on 2/20/14 and just got an email that it was shipped today, 7/2/14. Supposed to arrive on or before 7/10. I'll let you know.

ordered mine 2-4-14, got it yesterday after 1 day notification from adorama. the box looked like the ups guy kicked it to my house. i hope it is in proper working condition. I've been working some crazy hours so i hope i can get out and give it a whirl in the next couple days. its a little larger than i anticipated and has some weight to it. can't wait to give it a test run!
