Yes, they are good, but ya know sumtin.... They're not any better than some of the pictures I've seen taken by some HH members... In fact, some are actually better...

I agree UHH has some quality photographers as well.
Did anyone notice that none of those photos were taken during the mid day period. Note the shadows, these were all taken during the magic hours of predawn to about 3 hours after sunrise or between 3 hours before sunset to after dark.
Mid day light would wash out the colors and end the shadows that provide depth and texture.

MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE TIME OF DAY. Like I posted before.....my dad taught me that a picture is nothing more than Lights and Shadows. Shoot a snowflake. You think it's white? Wrong.....it's a myriad of colors caused by reflections of YUP....LIGHTS AND SHADOWS from the sun.
My kinda guy.....magic hours. Yes sir!!
Here's an example.....it snowed 18" here yesterday. I got up at 5:30 with the dogs and watched till the light was right where I wanted it. This is the result...taken 45 minutes after daylight.
Just after daylight....my favorite time of day
Thank you MrWilson ,those were indeed beautiful photographs, I visited Santa Fe and surrounding area last Sept. and that part of the country is breathtaking. I enjoyed other parts of the NatGeo site and will revisit it many times I'm sure.
