Thank you all, I will tell my son of these kind replies. I am still letting it sink in of him doing this, happy for the doors of his life being opened and him walking thru them.
You have every right to be proud of him. I'm sure he's a special young man.

Four years in the Navy took me from the Arctic Circle to crossing the Equator several times, as I literally circled the world. I visited Iceland, the Philippines, Hong Kong, England, France, Greece, Spain, Italy, Monaco, and saw a few other countries from the deck of an aircraft carrier.

Congrats - starting a journey that will provide a lifetime of good memories and friends...
Congratulations to him, The very best to him.
And to You his Family for raising a fine young man.
My first day in the Navy was June 5th, 1958 the day after I had graduated from High School Fifty Six years ago.
Basic Training was in San Diego, Calif., from a naive farm kid to an adult in a matter of weeks.
I thank him for his Service and Pray for his Safety.
Know you are very proud of him as I am as a fellow Citizen.
Blessings,
tom
