Is there any reason why I can't used my micro sd card in my dslr? The only reason I'm asking is because it is a 16GB vs my 4GB? Thanking you in advance for your time.

No reason whatsoever. Just make sure the write speed is up to par, many microSD cards are only Class2, but they are getting faster as more tablets adopt them.

My Nikon came with a Class 10, but I am also using an 8 Gig Class 4. I don't notice much of a difference.

I see SD cards advertised all the time for very reasonable prices. If money is a factor, OK, I can understand. I'm pretty sure you can get an 8gb for about $15-20, or less. Try BJS, Costco, Staples (always check heir sales & flyers) B&H, Amazon, eBay, etc.
The only ones I'd pay a premium for are Class 10's.

I often purchase cards from Radio Shack. Our local store usually has half price sales on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. It even betters WalMart's sale prices.
