I knew that West Virginia moonshine was strong and caused people to forget where they were or where they parked, but how in the blazes did some good ol boy end up parking his pickup over there?

A beauty. Thanks for sharing the photos. To my aesthetic sense the 1930's and 40's streamlined "Aero" look was the most pleasing of any era except for a some of the sleek beauties coming out now.

Nanaval, that's not a piece of history! In the Virginias, that's just another daily driver!!
If you drive around my neighborhood, there are at least a dozen or so similar old jalopies like that on blocks in my neighbors yards and driveways and garages.

Now that is a question I do not know the answer to...... must have had a lot of moonshine to end up over here.

Glad you liked them wings42. From the broken exhaust pipe looks like the owner is doing it up.

Hi SharpShooter I guess they were built to last then, we have classic cars but you do not see them driving on the roads much unless there is a rally or show. Maybe not history, but something old from your side.

Or maybe he had one of the early digital map things, they often sent people to strange places by largely imaginary routes.

They weren't and I still prefer paper maps. Here in California we used to see news stories of people rescued (or body recovered) in the mountains or desert because they got sent off on a logging or fire road to somewhere their city street class sedan couldn't handle. One ended up in the middle of the Mojave Desert because he followed a pair of tank tracks left by George Patton's troops on a training exercise for North Africa in 1943. Trails last a long time in the desert because the vegetation takes so long to regrow.

By the way your pictures took me down memory lane, except for the color there were a lot of those old Chevy pickups in Western Kentucky when I was a kid.
