critique the grass. My thinking is that if the photo would not look good framed, then I don't keep it. Based on that criteria, I've deleted a boatload.

I am drawn to these shots, whether it be the simultaneous swaying, or how it catches the light, so while I like the concept, sadly I struggle to find anything in focus and my eye wanders.

Crop about 15% off the bottom of the plaintain, then frame that one. It is the money shot of the group.

I love the first image Amy, the colours and focus are excellent.

I would crop enough off the bottom of #1 to end up with an almost square shape. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the grass, but this 'artsy' look does nothing to me--just a personal thing. :-) :-)

I like all three, Amy, and here's my take on the grass even though it disagrees with all the guys. :-) I think it's beautiful. I love the colors, and when downloaded I see two blades in front (middle and to the right) that are definitely in focus.

At first, I liked the plantain best for it's focus and color. Now I keep returning to the third in expanded download mode. It sure has a lot of interesting brush strokes, colors and shapes. Not sure if I would frame it, but it's been fun studying that photo. Mike

For another depiction of grass, go to http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-161922-1.html It can be beautiful, but needs a complementary background to set it off.

Though I am partial to lady bugs, that first shot is a stunner Amy. Well done. :-D

Thank you all for your comments. I appreciate the honesty and will think about all your suggestions. That doesn't mean I will take them, however. LOL
