Sharpness is a big problem for me. The dragonfly was even trying to cooperate by sitting still. What can I do?

Your settings contribute to why the image is not sharp. Please provide more information. What was your focal distance?

Please click the Store Original button on the righ before click add attachment. Then will have more to look at. Thank you.

From what I see here you focus was on the leaf. Perhaps you might want to use the manual focus. Often when use the auto focus it will average or pick up on something else.

Manual focus or just move the camera works.

What camera are you using...?
You can auto focus OK but set your camera to single focus point and make sure that point is on your subject...

I am now using D7100 and single point focus and trying to remember to use higher shutter speed to help camera movement. Not sure which camera I used for my blurry dragonfly. i think it was a D40. I need to start making notes when I post these pictures from work. I do not have the info or software with me that I need to share here. But I really appreciate all comments.

If your lens has VR, you shouldn't need higher shutter speeds...especially for a stationary object like the dragon fly...

You didn't mention the camera you're using. If it's a dslr what lens were you shooting with? Perhaps more information would help us help you.

Good luck
