D600 replaced with D610

FYI -- Nikon USA agreed to replace my defective D600 with a D610, which I have now received. So far, so good.

This was done after I had already sent in the D600 in for warranty repair in late 2013, and the spots continued upon its return.

I suspect that the D610 is a refurbished model, as the box had some ball point markings and some unusual interior packing. However, the shutter count for my first photo was "1". I assume that Nikon can reset the shutter count on a refurbished model, right?

So far, the D610 is working well.

D610 is better than D600

I had the same experience, except it was obvious the D610 was new. However, there is no warranty on it, which is expected. I'd venture that yours is new also, and I don't think they ever 'reset' the shutter count.

I will say that the shutter sounds much smoother on the D610 when released. All is good.

Nikon said warranty is six month from when the camera was sent in for repair, I also got a new 610, without warranty card, my 600 was 2 yrs old when I sent it in.
