Hi, just got a iMAC and now my photoshop elements program will not load on this machine since my last one was windows. SO the question is, where can I find an inexpensive version of Photoshop Elements for the iMAC products. It can be PSE 11 or even 10 do not need PSE 12 really.
Thanks
Welcome !!
I use Aperture which is free from Apple if you own a Mac.
I like it much better than PS.
Amazon has PSE 11 for Mac at $70 for download. Not sure where you can find a copy of 11. ;))

Aperture only works with a Mac and it is not free. It is $79.99 at the App Store. Maybe you're thinking of iPhoto?

Like yourself, I also moved to an iMac a couple of months ago. My experience was that I'd been using PS6 on a PC for the last couple of years and elected not to follow the CC crowd. What I found was if I installed PS6 for Mac and used my PS6 serial number the software worked.
So, I'd suggest downloading the same version you were using on the PC and then use the same serial number. I should work.

If you have the original disc for photoshop elements and it has the mac version on it just load from the disc and use the current registration number and you should be good to go. The only thing you might have to do is cancel the registration of the old computer. My disk of elements is for both mac & pc. and can be loaded on my mac & iMac. I just can't have both running the program at the same time.

iPhoto is the only program that comes free with a macbook Pro. I also have a macbook pro and it came with iPhoto, Aperture cost an additional $79.00.
You can order the macbook with aperture on it though and it will be on the computer when it ships. It costs $79.99 extra.

I also have a MacBook Pro, as well as a 27" iMac, and like jethro779, the only thing that came on either of these computers was iPhoto. May I ask where/when you purchased your computer, and if Aperture was a "special bonus", as I know it has not been a standard App? For me it's and additional $79.99 in the App.Store.

I was looking at the Apple Store and you can order a new macBook with Aperture on it. It still costs $79.95.

Thanks, that's probably the answer. Like you, I was wondering if I missed something along the way. :D
download PSE 9 from where? I surely would do it if I could find it free, or find PSE11 for like $30. PSE12 is 69.99 but would rather not spend the money right now.

If your iMac is new you will need elements 9 or newer. You can find elements 9 on ebay for less than $20.00 new.

Quite possible. In purchasing online, one of the configuration options is Aperture, with "add $79.99" in very small print. Your acquisition of Aperture may be the result of one of two possible scenarios:
1. You hit the Add Aperture by accident. OR
2. Someone who had ordered a Mac with Aperture installed returned it, and finding nothing wrong, it was shipped out as a new Mac, but someone failed to remove Aperture. Operations like this are handled by sub-contractors hired by Apple. It should have been marked as "USED", REFURBISHED", or "PREVIOUSLY SOLD" but, at quitting time especially, mistakes happen.
you might want to check out pixtalmator for the imac, it is very power, not expensive and they have a series of videos which reviews all tools for $5 and the program is about $20.
I have been testing it off and on to be able to pass on information to my students.
