NICE! I like ALL of them!

Probably the only way I'll get to visit Alaska because my wife HATES cold weather. Can't say I'm real fond of it myself.

All I have to photograph here is flat ground, bean and corn fields. :(

Please don't hesitate to show more. ;)

Then you need to visit in May thru July...it's exciting to experience the midnight sun! Activities in the summer last 24/7 due to prolonged daylight and temperatures warm up to 60-70's....it's a great time to visit!

I better start saving now, it's a long drive to Alaska! LOL

I like flying, but won't go through all the new loop holes and irritations it takes to fly now. ;) I might consider a cruise, but I probably wouldn't get enough shore time.

My wife had an opportunity to travel nurse to Barrow, but she decided that would be waaaaay to cold! LOL

Thank you for sharing your part of Alaska.... It is so beautiful. The ice climber is spectacular (and crazy) and I always love looking at animals

Great shots! You're a very brave person, even for an Alaskan, to go out in -8° temps.
Alaska is full of great beauty. Love it!

Brings back memories of trips to Homer and beyond. Eight below is warm, compared to some of our 40 below temps in Fairbanks (like right now!). When shooting in cold and clear weather like this, the colors and even snow & shadows seem to pop without any computer manipulation. I like the low clouds captured over the road and the close-up of the Dall sheep. It's amazing when traveling the road along Turnagain Arm, the amount of spectacular scenery that one sees. Open water to the right all the way looking into the sun much of the time, and steep hillsides on the left, often make metering and white balance a challenge. I added Alaska to my bucket list a few years ago, and here I am!

Thanks so much for your comments! The snow does make light metering a challenge sometimes. :-)
