I shoot with a Nikon D7000. I have not yet found a flash bracket that converts from horizontal to vertical that I like. They are either too heavy or too cumbersome.
I was watching a Gary Fong video about one of his flash diffusers when I saw that he was using a Sony HVLF60M Speedlight. The flash head tilts left and right allowing vertical or horizontal positioning.
What a great idea.....no more brackets. Why can't Nikon come up with something like that?
I would buy one, but $560 is too steep for Manual Flash Only on my Nikon.
Your thoughts?
PS Has anyone used either the Demb or RRS WPF-QR bracket?
One is $100. The other $250

I use the RRS WPF-QR2, which also requires an L-plate. The L-plate also lets me shoot vertical shots with the camera over the head, so I didn't mind needing to get it also. I find this works very well for events, and it is more compact than many other brackets. I have shot events without it, and I wouldn't do that again, since I don't like the shadows that produces. With the bracket, the shadows look more natural with vertical shots, and they are consistent between vertical and horizontal shots.
